Five years ago Rooster was started with the simple vision of being classic. We wanted to create a range of easy drinking beers that would appeal to the Vietnamese market. We wanted to avoid the pretension of craft, the adjuncts, the silly names, the exclusive nature that by nature excludes. Beer can just be beer; beer can be better but better beer can be for everyone!
While craft was getting some attention from Westerners and first adopters in Vietnam, Rooster was busy plucking away at our vision. A vision that wasn’t transplanted from US craft culture but a brand that was entirely Vietnamese and timeless. We designed a brand that fit the culture, that had drinkability at its forefront, simply crushable and local. You want that on ice? Sure… Do it… This is your beer.
What is important to us? Making beer… Honest clean refreshing beer for the people. We have accomplished this, and the incredible loyalty Rooster receives has been our payment.
30 years in finance and management, 22 of those in Vietnam. currently partner at Vinacapital; previously managing partner of Arthur Andersen Vietnam and a senior partner at KPMG. As the largest non-executive investor in Rooster Beers he is actively involved as an advisor in the business.
The founder of Rooster Beers. Michael is the person behind the original Rooster concept and vision. Michael has been in Vietnam over 10 years and has owned multiple small businesses; he has a diverse background in writing, engineering, nutrition and brewing.
Currently on the board for Rooster Beers, Victoria healthcare, and Intermalt. Ian’s focus for Rooster is as an advisor in nearly all categories, with experience in strategy, sales, distribution and even brewing.
Don’s been with Rooster from the start and holds together the technical team, running all events, and lending support to sales. Don is the embodiment of the Rooster culture, gregarious, loves beer, and all around great representative of the company.
